Hey Roy. Ed is makin me up some points. Can't wait to get em. Know he's busy, so I'm patient.
I am tryin several different types of cane and Bamboo fer arrows. I ahve a bunch of River Cane from Ky. I cut in Sept. 07. I have some cane I found on the river down here in Fl. thats half the weight of the cane I got in Ky. I found an abandoned home site today all growed up with some bamboo growin on it. Have no idea what kind. There were acutally 2 patches. 1 with Boo up to bout 2 1/2 inch in diamiter, but a lot of young plants in Arrow diameters, the other patch was no bigger than a 1" in diamiter, but thick like a cane break. I cut several shafts from that patch. Plan to go back and cut some of the youg plants from the patch with the big stuff in it. I am keepin em seperate, so I can see just what they are gonna weigh in at after they cure.
The Ky can is averagin 430 grains fer a 30" shaft. The River cane I found sown here is much lighter, bout 230 grains fer a compairable shaft. this is real interestin. At lest to me. I love makin Bows, but am a true believer that your bow can only shoot as good as your arrows will let it.

Wes

Wes, I was at a campout last year and spent some time just sittin under the big tent watchin Ed turn the ugliest chunk of flint into a work of art. The man has skill.

Talkin to him through his E-mails. I can tell he has a real passion fer knappin. You add that to skill and your gonna gets some real good stuff. Can't wait to try em out. Ifin the Good Lord willin, gonna see jus what they will do to a ole Tusker.

Wes
