here's a quiver i just finished. i've been wanting to make a quiver like this for years and the article by steve sell finally made me get to work on it. i went a step further and used sapphires for the eyes, almost 40 carats worth. enjoy!

fantastic mechslasher, being a retired coon hunter that sure hits the spot, beautiful job !!!

i wish i had a dollar for every mile i walked hunting and trapping these wiley critters.

Been intending to do a quiver like that. By the way, those are nice arrows too.

Hi,
Cool quiver. What makes up the body of the quiver? Did you wrap the coon skin around a leather tubing body? Could you post some pics of the quiver's back? Thanks!
thanks fellows. i simply laced up a regular back quiver using 9oz. leather for the tube and glued the coon skin on top of it. i did make a face form out of leather so it wouldn't have a flat look. here's a side view pic.

Great work. I bet my son really likes it when I show him the pictures. I think it would be a bit creepy, like something is crawling on my back. Nice job. Did anyone ask you for a ring or neclace with matching sapphires?

Looks GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks awesome! I read the same article and I'm in the process of building the same quiver using badger hide. I was going to use an old leather back quiver for the tube but didn't like the looks of that quiver. I've been looking for a piece of heavy leather to make the tube but I am not knowledgeable about types of leather and which would be rigid enough for this project. Iv'e narrowed it to 8-11 oz moose leather or tooling leather. Any suggestions?

i used 9oz leather on this quiver. i got it off ebay for about $15 for four sq/ft. more than enough for two quivers. look for scrap leather if you go to ebay.
