Been learning more about these cane shafts daily. A good ole boy from NC sent me some switch cane shafts and him and I been exchanging e-mails daily about cane arrows and fishen and wine and hot sauce, etc
LOL

In the past I have broken a few shafts at the nodes, thought it was me getting them too hot. Turns out it was me not getting them hot enough. Now I have been heating them for about a minute and after that, they bend like rubber. I was bending them over the edge of the work bench, then started bending them around the bolt of a clamp on the work bench, now all it takes is heating them for a minute, then just a very slight bending motion with my hands straightens them right out. It's just finding the right touch with them and it just keeps getting easier.. Well till after about 6 beers, then I lose my touch, and when I see that happen I turn off the heat gun

Here is the latest batch of shafts. The 6 shafts in the foreground have had 1 pass done on them and are already very straight. The 6 shafts in the back ground have not been done yet.

One's the right have been done, left not touched yet.
